Hi, In theory, File Vault shouldn’t affect performance of your computer or VO. In the initial encryption process, performance both of the System and VO could be slowed but after the encryption process has completed, there should be no adverse performance. Users will notice that the Login screen comes up very quickly and that it takes a bit longer to log in after entering your password, but after the login process has completed, everything should run normally.
