There is some discussion of this problem on
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6638906
where people running Yosemite 2013 machines are still getting Mavericks Recovery Console. There is no official resolution except that someone at the bottom of the page says that donwloading Yosemite again and reinstalling it then removed the Mavericks Recovery Partition.

For the time being though I will take the approach of if it anin'si not broken do not try to fix it.

I am not sure how old your iMac is or whether or not this would be a factor,
but if I use cmd-r at restart and take the steps to reinstall, it is Yosemite
that is indeed shown as the install that will be done, not Mavericks. So I
don't think the problem is that Apple has failed to allow a Yosemite install
but unfortunately I don't know what the problem may have been when you
attempted this.
