No. While inside downie, open a video by pressing Cmd+o. IF you have
the Safari extension installed, and you are watching a video, go to
the tool bar and on the very left end of the tool bar, you will see an
"open with Downie" button. Use VO+space to open this.

What, about Youtube? All you do is put what you want in to the
search box, then, press return. Now, go from heading to heading for
each video. Press VO+space to play the video. IF it's the one you
want, you can then open it in Downie. I don't understand what the
problem is with that. Unless, that is, you want something I'm not
understanding. Yes, when you click on the video link, the video
plays and you get the whole page. True, but, you can still open
with Downie and download that video. Believe me, That's how I do it.

Yeah probably but it doesn't select links so i get the whole page

CAn you not get around that by searching in the main youtube sight
and going from video to video by header? That's how I do it.
Honestly, not hard at all.

Hi,
What i don't like with Downie and i consider that almost to be a
show stopper is that you can't search for videos from within
Downie as you can with Mactubes. That, imho is an invaluable
feature so now i have to use Mactubes and Downie in combination
because i think the youtube site is messy at best and i don't
understand how the extention is supposed to work, that's how
stupid i am.

Hi, I think I said this already:
The video gets downloaded first then, if you want (you can
select this in the apps settings) the app converts the file to
mp3 and then deletes the original video. You can give it as many
videos ad you like and if you like it will autostart them one
after another so you dont need to look at it again.
What i like about this app in contrast with mactubes is that you
can use safari to select the videos that you want to import, i
personally did not like that mactubes limited the results to 50
and then you had to go to the following pages.
With downie you can also get a whole playlist or, as i like to
do it get all the videos by a certain user by going to his or
her profile selcting videos and then selecting the first one,
once that one is playing you can easily do next video until you
have them all (with each one you then select open with downie in
the safari toolbar) it works quite well for me personally.
Greetings, Anouk,

I would like to agree: however, I have run in to some videos
on youtube which Mactubes cannot download because the video
is set up not to allow it. Any solution to that? I doubt it
because it's a setting one can make inside a youtube account
with each uploaded video you can control whether or not
imbedding is allowed.
