Hi Isac, Thanks for your reply. A flash drive is probably the way to go. I'll get disk maker x and then take it from there. I'd rather not go into the discussion why I would like to continue using mountain lion, because I do understand the obvious reasons why not to use Mavericks, such as cost etc. I'm going to give it a try. I'm happy to hear that it is at least still possible to do this.
