Before I do this, I have a question: where'd my extra space go? I successfully
used Disk Utility to resize my Macintosh HD down earlier, but that gave me no
extra free space. Well, the size Disk Utility forces me to use went from 8.34GB
to 8.79GB, but that's after I resized the main partition down by 14GB or so.
Did that not do what I thought it would? I'm asking because I'd hate to do all
this again just to have nothing work. Right now, my Macintosh HD reports 51GB
total, with 10GB free, in Finder. That is despite my telling Disk Utility to
resize it to 45GB, not 51.
