Okay, thanks, I think I see what happened. I was trying to do all this after clicking "add"; I'm instead supposed to shrink my current partition before configuring the new one. It's shrinking now, so this should work better next time I add the new one and try to set it up. Hopefully I can figure out how to rename it, too.
