At any rate, with this new yearly schedule, I think the strategy of waiting 
until the worst is ironed out is a very good idea.  Apple is now patching two 
releases prior to the current generation, so you have the option, within those 
limits, of waiting for the dust to settle, which I highly recommend.  
Certainly, when I finally did move to Mavericks, the worst of the problems had 
been dealt with, but a few remained, and still remain, up until the prerelease 
of the current development release.  Only now, am I willing to "Standardise" on 
Mavericks, with its silly little bugs.  It's always difficult to know when to 
move, because, of course, there's always something you need from the latest 
version.

Sadly, the same option isn't available to iOS users, although the QA on iOS 
appears to be much better, so I've not felt the need for it.
