"the blind," need to stop waiting for some higher power to "make things 
accessible."  accessibility is different for every individual, and only the 
broadest measures of any sort are useful across the board.  Expecting an ADA or 
other body of law to universally open doors is a myth.  Disability is a state 
of mind, and accessibility is an ongoing invention of the individual.  If one 
accepts another's standards of accessibility, one also accepts the handicap 
such a standard implies by declaring something inaccessible; when one accepts a 
handicap, one also accepts disability.
