Hi,
When I got my MacBook, I got the early 2014 MacBook Air, custom configured. However, taking a brief glance at the serial number on Apple's product support, it reveals that it's a "mid 2013 model". Also going to about this mac under the apple menu reveals the same. However, the invoice and product receipt both say 2014; as well as the box it came in. I've read a discussion on the Apple Communities Forum that says this is a known bug with online configured purchases - the people in China, where these are built, do not bother changing the firmware to reflect the new model. I wanted to see if anyone's had this problem as well; it doesn't seem very Apple-like to forget a major detail like that. Here's the link to what I read https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6222193 I will be calling AppleCare tomorrow, as this is a pretty serious issue if I actually have been given an older model that I did not order. I'm slightly apprehensive, though, as it is past the 14 days that customers are given to return their products; on top of that returns of custom-configured MacBooks are not accepted. If someone has had something similar happen to them, please comment. Thanks. Regards, Tristan -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group.
