Hi there I had a situation once similar to what you are describing. Is this program listed on your ndesktop as a volume? If it is, you may have to put your cursor on top of it and press command e to eject the volume off your desktop. I had this happen once with a piece of software, and that's what I had to do. The fvolume was still listed on my desktop, even though Ihad uninstalled the program.
