If you follow the instructions at macports you can get that installed after you install xcode: 

http://www.macports.org/install.php

and then you just do

sudo port install sox
to get sox installed. Macports lets you install many (over 18 thousand) linux packages on OSX since, under the hood, OSX is also just a unix variant.

you could even do a shell script to bulk convert some files. Here's one I found 
on another forum:

for i in $(ls *.mp3 | sed -e s/\.mp3$//); do sox $i.mp3 $i.ogg; done

Basically it gets a list of all the mp3 files in the directory and strips off 
the file ending to get just the file name. Then it loops through each of the 
filenames and converts it from mp3 to ogg.
