Hi, I'm not sure if you're using vo plus j to get to your e-mail message or just opening the e-mail with the enter key or vo plus spacebar. Well, either way, once you are in the area where voiceover is reading the entire message to you you need to then interact with the message. Just make sure the voiceover cursor is focused in the message/text area. To interact press vo plus shift plus down arrow. Once you're interacting with the e-mail you can use vo plus down and up arrows to read line by line. To read word by word use vo plus right or left arrow. To read character by character use vo plus shift plus right or left arrow. I hope that made sense.
To read word by word in safari may be a little more difficult for me to explain, but I will try. :) Well, once the voiceover cursor is focused on texth you want to read by word or line you must then interact with it by pressing vo plus shift plus down arrow. Then use the key strokes I described above. Once you are done interacting with something and you want to focus the voiceover cursor somewhere you must uninteract with it. To uninteract with something press vo plus shift plus up arrow. Also note that an item may have several layers of interaction. For example when in safari, you may need to interact with a group, then within that group move the cursor to the group item you want, then you may interact with that. So, you may interact a couple of times before you are down to the text level. So, if you interact twice, you may also have to uninteract two times to get out of that area to be able to move the voiceover cursor to another area. Wow, I hope I'm not confusing you. Just play around with interacting and uninteracting. Also, I did not give you the keystrokes if you choose to use quick nav so quick nav is a different way to do the same tasks and may be easier but I personally need more practice with it but it is easy. However, my brain still wants to use the vo keys. :) Also, when composing an e-mail you may find that you need to interact with the text area when you want more control of what you are reading or editing. Anytime you feel you want to focus more on an item just try to interact with it. If it is something you cannot interact with it just won't work and no harm will be done. :) Best of luck, Christina On Sep 10, 2009, at 2:03 PM, May and Wynter wrote: > Hi everyone.
