Hi Donna, I think you can change the whree Safari downloads to but i'm not sure as I don't have my Mac with me right now.

Do you mean moving from the folder or the dmg itself. Because the great majority of Mac applications do not require an installer, the dmg bundles everything in one handy download. I would think that the reason why you do not genreally just get the application file from the internet is due to the potential for harmful code etc and perhaps the size as well. Personally, I think there is a lot to be said for this approach over not needing an isntaller. You said it was a bother, but trust me it could be worse smile. Linux requries you to have all of the applicaton's dependencies insatalled before it will work - although there are advantages to this approach to but as I said, I personally like the Mac approach to handling the installation of applications.
