Hi All - I’m stuck and looking for advice on how to get unstuck.
H/W & S/W configuration: Two systems: iMac Pro & MacBook Pro (problem is common to both) OS X 10.4.4 xCode 10.2 MacPorts 2.5.4 The problems I’m encountering are * A failure in archivefetch for many (all?) ports; * ports diagnose claiming xCode 10.2 unsupported (but no info on web site indicating this is the case…?) On the laptop: New laptop, with set-up while on travel. Installed macports from the package installer. All went well. When I went to install ports, however, I find that no ports would download: Gracie:~ lsfinn$ sudo port selfupdate ; sudo port install hunspell Password: ---> Updating MacPorts base sources using rsync MacPorts base version 2.5.4 installed, MacPorts base version 2.5.4 downloaded. ---> Updating the ports tree ---> MacPorts base is already the latest version The ports tree has been updated. To upgrade your installed ports, you should run port upgrade outdated ---> Computing dependencies for hunspell The following dependencies will be installed: gettext libiconv ncurses readline Continue? Error: Follow https://guide.macports.org/#project.tickets <https://guide.macports.org/#project.tickets> to report a bug. Inspection of logs does not reveal anything useful (to me). On both systems, when I run diagnose, I get an indication that xcode 10.2 is not supported: Quedo [42] Yeah? sudo port diagnose Password: Error: currently installed version of Xcode, 10.2, is not supported by MacPorts. For your currently installed system, only the following versions of Xcode are supported: 10.1 10.0 Warning: found dylibs in your /usr/local/lib directory. These are known to cause problems. We'd recommend you remove them. Warning: found header files in your /usr/local/include directory. These are known to cause problems. We'd recommend you remove them. However, when I try to find some indication on the macports web site, or via google, I’m unable to find anything regarding xcode 10.2/macports problems. I’d very much appreciate any advice that will help me get macports running again on the desktop, or up and running on the laptop. Thanks, Sam — Sam Finn lsf...@gmail.com <mailto:lsf...@gmail.com>
