Hi, In OSX templates are only installed in the Lyx.app bundle. With finder, you can explore inside this bundle and copy from there the templates folder into your personal lyx folder in ~/Library/Application support/lyx . Then you can indicate to Lyx this folder as the Templates folder to use in the preferences.
