On the Web, I've read that people who were getting that error had an outdated biblatex version installed. Please try to update biblatex to the most recent version. Also note that biber versions are tighly related to biblatex versions. The respective documentations (biber and bilatex, resp.) tell you which version of each other they require. HTH, Jürgen
