Hi,
I installed from this file, linked on the LyX front page:
ftp://ftp.lip6.fr/pub/lyx/bin/2.0.0/LyX-2.0.0-3-Installer.exe
I thought this was 2.0.0 stable with some bugs fixed, not RC3. Is that not
correct?
Regards
Matthias

Dear Matthias, AFAIK, 2.0RC3 installer for Windows has a problem that renders
your MikTeX installation useless. This happened to me and I had to reinstall it
again. Why didn't you install the stable version?

Hello,
First of all sorry if this message comes twice. I sent it first yesterday
without being subscribed, and according to
http://news.gmane.org/gmane.editors.lyx.general it does not seem to have come
through:
I am working on Windows XP as a network-authenticated (Kerberos) user with
limited rights and I also have a local administrator account. Today, I have
upgraded my 1.6.9 installation to 1.6.10 and installed 2.0.0-3, both with the
local admin account. Everything worked perfectly with that account. I also had
successfully installed 1.6.8 before using this path.
But when I now start LyX as the normal user with limited rights, no document classes are available in neither
1.6.10 nor 2.0.0. They are all in the list, but marked as "not available". What can be the reason
for this? I tried "texhash --admin" and "texhash", but neither helped.
Did you also try Tools>Reconfigure?
Richard
It's different than RC3. It's the third version of the installer for
2.0.0 final. Some bugs have been fixed in the installer itself.
