OK, one last try. Ignore LyX's error message. Open the LyX Intro manual that you find in LyX's Help menu. Then view it as "PDF(pdflatex)". You might get error messages that you can ignore. In the menu Document->LaTeX Log you get the LaTeX-log file. Plase send me its content.
