I am trying to ear how to use the minitoc package to produce chapter-level
toc's for a book. And I am failing. I look at the previous messages on this
list, the wiki page, then dove into the package documentation...and I got
lost.

I have a book document (class books(Koma-script)) which is made up of a master
document and several sub-documents, one per chapter.
The master document is structured like:

1. First chapter [chapter environment]
some general introductory text
Input:chapter1.lyx

2. Second chapter [chapter environment]
some general introductory text
Input:chapter2.lyx
......
etcetera.

Each chapter-level file is simply a list of section-level (and below)
environment and the associated text:

1.1 First section
1.1.1 First subsection

etcetera

I would like each chapter to begin with a toc for the chapter. The problem I
cannot seem able to solve is: where do I put the \minitoc command(s)? I tried:

a. in the master document, just before the input command
b. in the master document, just before the chapter sectioning environment
c. in the subdocument, just before the first section
d. any combination of a, b, and c I could think of.

Sometimes I get minitoc errors (The toc is empty), mostly I get no errors and
no toc either.

Any help is appreciated.

Cheers,

S.
