Dear Dominik, dear listmembers,
In BibTex I save in utf-8 (unicode). In Lyx 1.6.1 I use Unicode
(XeTeX) (utf8), and I didn´t change that when I compiled without the
Xetex-line in the preamble. So now I tried without the line and
entered Unicode (utf8). I have got this code then:
Package biblatex Info: Trying to load bibliography style 'authortitle-
dw'...
Package biblatex Info: ... file 'authortitle-dw.bbx' found.
(/Users/stefan/Library/texmf/tex/latex/biblatex-dw/bbx/authortitle-
dw.bbx
File: authortitle-dw.bbx 2008/12/19 v1.2e biblatex bibliography style
Package biblatex Info: Trying to load bibliography style 'standard-
dw'...
Package biblatex Info: ... file 'standard-dw.bbx' found.
(/Users/stefan/Library/texmf/tex/latex/biblatex-dw/bbx/standard-dw.bbx
File: standard-dw.bbx 2008/12/19 v1.2e biblatex bibliography style
Package biblatex Info: Trying to load bibliography style 'standard'...
Package biblatex Info: ... file 'standard.bbx' found.
(/Users/stefan/Library/texmf/tex/latex/biblatex/bbx/standard.bbx
File: standard.bbx 2008/10/02 v0.8 biblatex bibliography style
As far as I see, I did not get this strange line with the invalid
utf-8 byte here. But I still get the same error-messages. It seems to
make no difference wether I use XeTex or not, this was just causing
the trobule with the utf-8 byte (I guess).
Best*

thanks again. Here is the version of the used biblatex:
Package: biblatex 2008/12/13 v0.8b programmable bibliographies
Okay, there should be no conflicts, then.
and this is what I find in the mentioned logfile under biblatex-dw
Package biblatex Info: Trying to load bibliography style
'authortitle-
dw'...
Package biblatex Info: ... file 'authortitle-dw.bbx' found.
(/Users/stefan/Library/texmf/tex/latex/biblatex-dw/bbx/authortitle-
dw.bbx
Good, the styles are found.
Invalid UTF-8 byte or sequence at line 1 replaced by U+FFFD.
This is strange. It seems that the files are stored in UTF-8
encoding. I
have never seen this error message before. Could you check in which
encoding the biblatex-dw files are?
Regards,
Dominik.-
