I don't know how "scholarly" my books are, but I've written the following books in LyX: * Troubleshooting Techniques of the Successful Technologist (309 pages) * Manager's Guide to Technical Troubleshooting (201 pages) * Twenty Eight Tales of Troubleshooting (221 pages) * Troubleshooting: Just the Facts (82 pages) * Rapid Learning for the 21st Century (136 pages) * Learn Vim Tonight (94 pages) Some of my earlier books were written in WordPerfect and MS Word, but once I discovered LyX, all further books were written in LyX.
