Hello,

to have a list of the variables used in my document, I make an index with
the nomenclature-package. Since a lot of the entries are very short, I would
like to have it in two columns. This is easy using multicols, but what is
difficult to have in the same time the header in only one column. What I
tried is to have an empty header of the nomenclature itself and than I print
the Header I want before the makeindex. That works fine, but there is still
the space left for the original header, which is blank now.
Can anybody tell me, how I can get rid of the space thenomenclature reserves
for the header, or how I can configure it to print no header at all?

I attach a small example of what I did so far.
