following up on my previous post: i have a lyx document with the preamble specifying to use the font beramono for the non-proportional font (e.g. for lyx-code sections).
when i produce the dvi or pdf, angle brackets: <> appear as upside down question marks and upside down exclamation marks. my previous message about this issue (with the same subject line) includes screenshots. my locale is english/us. any idea on why this font would be behaving this way? i have produced dvi's using the same font in the past that didn't exhibit this problem. on the same os. the main difference being a different distribution of ubuntu (was gutsy vs now hardy) has a change taken place in the implementation to the font that would cause this problem? any idea how to change it back? where can i find resources on understanding how such fonts are implemented so i can get to the core of this issue? thanks in advance, / eitan
