Hi,

I want to have my equations numbered like (section.formula) so I put the
comand

\numberwithin{equation}{section}

in the preambule. I did in a document and it worked.
My problem is that now, I created a new document and it doesn't work. It's
the same type (article) and I write exactly the same thing in the preambule
but in one document it works and in the other I got the error message:

 \numberwithin
                  {equation}{section}
The control sequence at the end of the top line
of your error message was never \def'ed. If you have
misspelled it (e.g., `\hobx'), type `I' and the correct
spelling (e.g., `I\hbox'). Otherwise just continue,
and I'll forget about whatever was undefined.

and

 \numberwithin{e
                    quation}{section}
You're in trouble here. Try typing <return> to proceed.
If that doesn't work, type X <return> to quit.

If someone knows what I might be doing wrong. I'm new in LyX and I cannot
fix it.

Thanks.
