margin problem

Hi Folks,

I suppose I have answered the email I sent yesterday to the effect that 
my margin machine would not recognize changes in margins.  I "fixed" the 
problem by removing everything in Document-Settings-Latex Preamble.

So now the question I have is:  what should normally be in the 
Latex-Preamble for class Article?
