I had never used the wrap figure function, so I played around with it a little. I couldn't reproduce your error message, but I had trouble with inserting a picture and it actually didn't show up (although text would show up) in the pdf file until ...... I set the picture size to match the wrap figure size. The default was 50 col% on my machine. Give that a try and it may just work.

Thanks, Bob... that didn't work for me, though. But since I could get a bunch of text to behave properly inside the wrap:Figure box, I tried inserting the graphic into the middle of that text and it worked! I then began to delete the text until nothing was left except the graphic... and still no errors when DVI-viewed! I presume an invisible character (maybe a brace) remains that took care of the errors, but anyway it seems to be working.
