Thanks. You have found a bug in the xfig template. I filed it here: http://bugzilla.lyx.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2716 The problem is that the latex code generated by xfig requirers the color package, but the template does not request it. You can fix this yourself: Open the external_templates file (to be found in the LyX resoureces directory) with a text editor. Search for a line beginning with "Template XFig" Then put a line Requirement "color" in front of the next two occurences of Requirement "graphicx". After that your example file should work just fine.
