I've had good, quick results using both the provided latinmacro and writing my own -drv.tex files. If you have the font properly encoded from bitstream, adobe, or linotype, it should be relatively painless to follow the guide from P.L.

If I recall, this typeface has a roman only -- no italic, bold or SC?

Begin by assembling the necessary .sty and .etx files in one directory. You could copy the first few lines from the installation guide documentation. Process the .tex file, then create the .tfm files and the map, and disseminate the files in their proper directories. If you plan ahead, it's really not bad.
