I agree wholeheartedly. In my particular case, though, I would have
been spared a lot of grief if the User's guide had mentioned that the
return key must be hit. That should be easier to fix than changing the
interface.

The table interface is indeed quite confusing. I think it should be
split
between a dialog for the general parameters for the table, another
dialog
for columns and a third one for cells.
