I would prefer to give them just the PDF, but then I have to get involved in placing the images, etc. My original "deal" (and preference) is that the image plates are printed separately and tipped together into the middle of the book before binding, but I don't know yet if they are willing/able to do this.
Or, what about this (if it has to be): I lay out the illustrations in LyX with captions, etc. and use a low-res version of each image. The press (if they generate their own PDF) then modifies the pathname/filenames for the images as needed so that the final images (which need to be prepped by them, I think) are then substituted? > I have never heard of the double bookmarks. I think I solved this (by checking my own log). There is a reference that is apparently defined twice in my document. Thanks for the other tips; I'm now in direct contact with a developer at the press and he seems very eager to make this work (thank God -- I don't think very many art history books are typeset with LaTeX or LyX). -Kevin -- Kevin Pfeiffer <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Tiros-Translations
