This message is only for those using LyX on Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger).
I've created a simple Spotlight importer for .lyx files; the importer and instructions on how to install it are available here: <http:// wiki.lyx.org/Mac/Spotlight>.
Spotlight, of course, is the new search engine Apple provides with OS X 10.4. It works only for file types it knows about, and installing this importer will tell Spotlight how to index .lyx files for content.
