Bind file ignored? (Lyx/Mac 1.3.6)

Sorry if this has been discussed before, but I couldn't find any 
reference to it in the archives.

As the subject says, the bind file I choose (emacs.bind) doesn't seem to 
have an effect.  The status-bar shows the correct keystrokes when I 
choose an option from the menu (e.g. (buffer-write: [C-x C-s]) ), but 
those keystrokes do not save the file - none of them work.  This was the 
same with the previous versions as well.

The X11 version installed with fink doesn't have this problem, but of 
course is missing all that Mac goodness of the Mac native version.

Any suggestions?
