The problem here is really that acrobat is bad at showing bitmap fonts - printing
should be much better, and try using "gv" to read the pdf file. I'll be okay.
But of course we need to help people who have nothing but that bad acrobat. The fix is to use a vector font instead of a bitmap font. The easy way is to select something other than "default" font, for example pslatex. Or try out the other ones for different looks. If you really need the default "computer modern" font, get the postscript version of it and set up your latex correctly. That could be some work, so just use a non-default font. I believe all of them are ok.
