Angus, No, I've never used the subfigure option. Just went to the dialog box and saw where it is. I have put multiple tables in a float so that there are three, small tables aross the page. But, I've not put individual figures into a float like your example. I suppose that I can create 8 separate little figure files from the one large one and then I can reference each one separately. Ah, well.
