I'm very sorry about this. The RPM works well on my system, but as I wrote in the RPM info, I had to upgrade some libs and gcc, because SuSE's gcc compiler shipped with 8.2 is buggy (and does not compile LyX). Probably there are, additionally to the bug JMarc mentioned, some compatibility issues, cf. http://portal.suse.com/sdb/en/2003/05/gcc33_release.html Since this is a grave bug (dataloss), I think we should remove the 8.2 rpm from the server.
