I can work with lyx in spanish with LANG equals to: es_CO.UTF-8 or [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Does anybody use L�X in spanish? My lyx won't accept accented vowels, it will display them as � (capital A with a tilde on top). I know I've set up Xkeyboard correctly, because lyx will actually accept the spanish "�", and all the other programs (including xedit) accept all the vowels. but not LYX. I've tried to manipulate the encodings, the fonts, the input- output codes...everything.
