Robin rather stupidly wrote
The documentation on making key-bindings mentions the "Reference Guide" for a complete list of functions. Where can I find this?In /usr/share/lyx/doc, of course (I looked earlier, but missed it in the swirl of international documentation).
A link in the Help menu would be good, though.
