Did you execute the command "ldconfig" after installing xforms?

Yes I did..

And there is not another xforms still installed maybe as rpm, so it would find the wrong one? Just a suggestion.

I have now managed to install 1.2.1 from the rpms at the lyx devel ftp site.
1.3pre need a bunch of libstdc stuff that I don't have, guess I need a newer gcc or something.

Anymore ideas welcome!! Please !! :-)
