To reduce the length in all enumerate lists, add the following to the preamble. \let\oldenumerate=\enumerate \def\enumerate{\oldenumerate% \setlength{\itemsep}{0pt}\setlength{\parsep}{0pt}} The same can be done for itemize lists.
