Hello, as was mentioned by someone else, you should try the source rpm. You'll need the dev tools from redhat (should be installed) then, as root, type 'rpm --rebuild lyx-1.2.1-1.src.rpm' and go make yourself some tea. When you come back, assuming it finished correctly, you'll find you rpm in /usr/src/redhat/RPMS/i386 IIRC.
