Trying 1.2.0 on my home debian installation, I'm getting somewhat different behaviour to what I have previously reported. In this case, every image I've tried (.ps, e.ps and .jpg) has not converted to a dot xpm file.
With one file, I have converted it on the command line to a .xpm file with convert z10.eps z10.xpm and successfully viewed the .xpm in xv. In lyx-120 it again comes up with 'XpmColorFailed'. I have tried it as both set to monochrome and gray in lyx, and for both get the same XpmColor message.
