I would like to know what must I do (i.e. what must I write into the Latex preamble of 
my document (Book AMS) ?) for having (for example) :

Definition 1.1.1
Example 1.1.1
Definition 1.1.2
Example 1.1.2
etc...

in the place of :

Definition 1.1.1
Example 1.1.2
Definition 1.1.3
Example 1.1.4
etc...
