People on this list tend to be very friendly as long as you state your
problems precisely enough.

These latex classes that lyx supports are not part of the standard
teTeX distribution, probably because your license does not allow them
to. If you look at the menu entry Help>LaTeX Configuration, you will
find a description of all these files, whether they have been found or
not, and the place where you can find them.

The docbook part may be useful for you for man pages, howtos, etc. You
probably need some additional software to get them (sgmltools 2.0).
