Hey everyone,

I've been a happy user of LyX for a few months now. I really like the
WYSIWYM idea and intend to continue using LyX for a long time.

From what I've seen in this list, most of the fine tuning needs to be
done through ERT. The LyX developers obviously put in an enormous amount
of time to help people with their fine tuning needs. My regards to them.

In hopes that I can be more self-reliant in that aspect, I'd like to
learn a little bit about TeX macros. My goal is to be able to understand
the basic syntax used and maybe write some simple macros of my own.
Right now I don't know when to use \let instead of \renewcommand, or
what all the @'s mean, or anything else for that matter. However,
through trial and error, I've managed to modify some class definitions
to suit my needs.

The big question is: where can I find some online, entry-level tutorials
that teach what I'm looking for? I've been searching Google like crazy.
While I've found millions of tutorials for other languages, I can't seem
to find anything of the sort about TeX or LaTeX.

TIA,

Roberto
