The subject of dealing with sorting in tables
has been extensively discussed on the list 2 month ago or so.
Seemed that currenly you have to sort externally before
importing, if your needs are not fulfilled by the index
or glossary facilities (which in fact rely on an external program).
Several of us proposed to work on generic connections to
table-like formats (csv for comma separated variables AFAIR).
