Same results.  The minimal document looks fine as a PDF, while the one from the
docbook template does not scale the figures.  The results of this test are 
again in:

        http://www.slac.stanford.edu/~curt/lyx/

Perhaps my sgml-tools are broken? I had the same problem no matter which 
template I choose ( docbook, linuxdoc, IEEEtran, aastex, latex8 ...) .
