Yes, I know a lot of people who would like to run lyx, but they don't like or
don't have the time to switch to linux. And in my opinion getting lyx to work
smoothly under windows is a lot of work.
It would be really nice and really a big step forward for the popularity of
lyx if we could get this done.
The problem I had, was to find a suitable x-server, because cygwin only works
for win2k I think.
