Follow up: if the settings are like this, the aspect ratio always seems to be neglected, resulting in vertically stretched figures in the output. I work on windows 11 (the problem was similar in previous versions of LyX, on windows 10). A small problem I every now and then notice with figures: the setting to keep the aspect ratio sometimes "disappears". Hard to reproduce this behavior consistently. When I copy-paste figures, I know that I risk that this will happen. But I think it also happens in other situations. Again, hard to reproduce consistently, it happens "now and then". A bit annoying, since this makes me check the entire document to detect whether this has happened or not.
