I am quite new with Lyx and Tetex. I have tried to use the tutorial, but seem to be
missing a menu item. I would like to be
able to view the DVI output, but the menu choice that the tutorial says to use (File
-> View DVI) is not in my file menu,
nor any of my menus. I have compiled and installed Lyx 1.1.6fix1, and tetex 1.0.7. I
have also tried to use tex to convert
the .lyx document into dvi with the command line:
tex newfile1.lyx
but it generates errors like:
This is TeX, Version 3.14159 (Web2C 7.3.1)

! You can't use `macro parameter character #' in vertical mode.
