The log file look indeed similar - but sudo isn’t appropriate here. The configuration run checks the availability of system components for ordinary users, i.e. for you. ATM, I have no idea why the module detection stops at algorithm2e.module. This is the problem, IMO. Is your LyX installation complete? The directory /Applications/LyX.app/Contents/Resources/layouts should contain 231 files. $ ls /Applications/LyX.app/Contents/Resources/layouts|wc 231 231 3964 $ ls -1R /Applications/LyX.app/Contents/Resources|wc 4237 3917 76461 The complete tree has 4237 items. To check another thing: there is an automatic upgrade in configure run. Perhaps it copies some problematic contents from your 2.2 installation. To circumvent this you may try these commands (no sudo please): $ mkdir /tmp/LyX $ cd /tmp/LyX $ python -tt /Applications/LyX.app/Contents/Resources/configure.py --binary-dir=/Applications/LyX.app/Contents/MacOS/ After your configure operation in /tmp/LyX you’ll probably have the same log file as before. I’d like to know where the contents of /tmp/LyX is different to mine: $ ls -ltr /tmp/LyX total 744 drwxr-xr-x 2 stephan wheel 64 18 Aug 20:47 bind drwxr-xr-x 2 stephan wheel 64 18 Aug 20:47 clipart drwxr-xr-x 2 stephan wheel 64 18 Aug 20:47 doc drwxr-xr-x 2 stephan wheel 64 18 Aug 20:47 examples drwxr-xr-x 2 stephan wheel 64 18 Aug 20:47 images drwxr-xr-x 2 stephan wheel 64 18 Aug 20:47 kbd drwxr-xr-x 2 stephan wheel 64 18 Aug 20:47 layouts drwxr-xr-x 2 stephan wheel 64 18 Aug 20:47 scripts drwxr-xr-x 2 stephan wheel 64 18 Aug 20:47 templates drwxr-xr-x 2 stephan wheel 64 18 Aug 20:47 ui -rw-r--r-- 1 stephan wheel 12617 18 Aug 20:47 clsFiles.lst -rw-r--r-- 1 stephan wheel 211862 18 Aug 20:47 styFiles.lst -rw-r--r-- 1 stephan wheel 4448 18 Aug 20:47 bstFiles.lst -rw-r--r-- 1 stephan wheel 1922 18 Aug 20:47 bibFiles.lst -rw-r--r-- 1 stephan wheel 234 18 Aug 20:47 bbxFiles.lst -rw-r--r-- 1 stephan wheel 175 18 Aug 20:47 cbxFiles.lst -rw-r--r-- 1 stephan wheel 15640 18 Aug 20:47 lyxmodules.lst -rw-r--r-- 1 stephan wheel 1986 18 Aug 20:47 lyxciteengines.lst -rw-r--r-- 1 stephan wheel 348 18 Aug 20:47 xtemplates.lst -rw-r--r-- 1 stephan wheel 10480 18 Aug 20:47 textclass.lst -rw-r--r-- 1 stephan wheel 1444 18 Aug 20:47 packages.lst -rw-r--r-- 1 stephan wheel 20254 18 Aug 20:47 lyxrc.defaults -rw-r--r-- 1 stephan wheel 65778 18 Aug 20:47 configure.log Sorry, I forgot to give you the advise to work in a temporary directory last time. I’m afraid you have to cleanup the working directory you’ve used for your attempt to run LyX configure script (your home directory?). There are the following directories: bind clipart doc examples images kbd layouts scripts templates ui and some list files.
